About Your Trip
Perched on the southernmost tip of Israel, the resort city of Eilat captivates with its never-ending summer, thanks to an average of 360 sunny days each year. Look one way and you’ll see towering mountains, and in the other direction, the vast sea — in between is a desert landscape that draws tourists from all over the world. On this DreamTrip, you’ll leave the city behind for a few hours as you travel into this rocky desert. From the comfort of your Jeep, marvel at the natural beauty of red sandstone canyon walls, sweeping sand dunes and otherworldly rock formations. The sunlight plays games against the rock, creating hues of yellows, oranges and reds.
During your leisure time, why not head out to explore Eilat’s other wonderful offerings? Conveniently, your hotel is just steps from a promenade dotted with restaurants, souvenir shops and excellent vantage points for watching the sun set. Nearby, the Botanical Garden flourishes with thousands of trees and plants, waterfalls and bird sanctuaries. Outside of the city, you’ll find wineries in the Negev desert, hiking in Timna Park, sailing on the Red Sea and scuba diving in Coral Beach Nature Reserve.
What we love:
• One of the hottest nightlife scenes in the region, Eilat boasts frequent beach parties, along with year-round club and bar events.
• Eilat’s Red Sea shoreline stretches 6 miles (10 kilometers) — enough for 15 or so beaches, including the popular Dolphin Reef beach.
• If you do make it out to Timna Park, be sure to check out the relics on display for visitors. In ancient times, Timna Park was the center of copper production, with mines, furnaces, workshops and shrines, and these relics offer a glimpse into the area’s rich past.
